VIETNAM VISAS

E-VISA:

Each individual who wants to go to another country must apply for a visa (if any) with the period of entry according to the regulations of that country. Normal visa issuances are issued at diplomatic, consular offices of that country located in the host one. Today, along with the development of information technology, visa issuance has also been carried out via the Internet, the result of which is electronic visas.

Electronic Visa or E-visa is a legal permit issued by the authority department of the country where the applicant wants to travel.

Currently, Vietnam has also applied e-visas with a period of entry time to Vietnam not exceeding 30 days. There are a total of 80 countries on the list of e-visas to Vietnam as of 2020.

BUSINESS VISA:

Vietnam business visa, also known as DN1 visas under the new immigration law (DN visa under the  previous immigration law), is specifically issued to the following subjects:
  • DN1 Visa – issued to foreigners working with companies and organizations with legal status  following Vietnamese law,
  • DN2 Visa – issued to foreigners coming to Vietnam for services, establishing a commercial  presence, and carrying out other activities under treaties to which Vietnam is a party.
To apply for a Vietnam business visa application, you need to ensure:
  • A current passport is valid for at least 6 months from the date of your arrival in Vietnam (temporary passports are not accepted);
  • Passport with at least 2 blank pages;
  • Have an invitation/sponsorship letter from a Vietnam company and approval from the  Immigration Department in Viet Nam.
Depending on the length of stay (visa validity) and the number of entries, Vietnam business visa is  divided into the following categories:
  • 1 month with single entry;
  • 1 month with multiple entries;
  • 3 months with single entry;
  • 3 months with multiple entries;
  • 6 months with multiple entries; and
  • 1 year with multiple entries
Currently, there are two ways to apply for a Vietnam business visa, which are:
  • Apply for a Vietnam business visa at Vietnam Embassies/Consulates abroad. You will receive a  visa approval letter (also known as a a Vietnam entry authorization letter) allowing you to get a  visa stamp at Vietnam Embassies/Consulates abroad.
  • Apply for a Vietnam business visa gotten at the international airport: You will receive a visa  approval letter (also known as a Vietnam entry authorization letter) allowing you to receive a visa stamp upon arrival at Vietnam international airports

RELATIVES VISA:

Vietnam Visiting-relatives visa (TT visa) is one of the types of visa issued to foreigners entering Vietnam to visit relatives and family.

According to the Law on Entry, Exit, Transit, and Residence of Foreigners in Vietnam No. 51/2019/QH14, Vietnam Visiting-relatives visa are issued to the following subjects:

  • Foreigners are fathers, mothers, spouses, and children of Vietnamese citizens;
  • Foreigners are spouses, and children under 18 years old granted visas marked LV1, LV2, LS, DT1, DT2, DT3, NN1, NN2, DH, PV1, LĐ1, LĐ2, which:
  • LV1 – Vietnam visa issued to foreigners working with departments, units under the Vietnam Government; the National Assembly, the Government, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Supreme People’s Court, the Supreme People’s Procuracy, the State Audit, ministries, ministerial-level department, and Government departments; provincial committees, city committees, People’s Councils, People’s Committees of provinces and cities;
  • LV2 – Visa issued to foreigners working with political or social organizations, Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry;
  • LS – Visa issued to foreign lawyers working in Vietnam;
  • ĐT1 – Visa issued to foreign investors in Vietnam and representatives of foreign investing organizations in Vietnam with contributed capital of VND 100 billion or more or investing in industries and trades preferential for investment or geographical areas preferential for investment decided by the Government;
  • ĐT2 – Visa issued to foreign investors in Vietnam and representatives of foreign investing organizations in Vietnam with contributed capital from VND 50 billion to less than VND 100 billion or investing in industries and trades encouraged for development investment decided by the Government;
  • ĐT3 – Visa issued to foreign investors in Vietnam and representatives of foreign investing organizations in Vietnam with contributed capital from VND 03 billion to less than VND 50 billion;
  • NN1 – Visa issued to a person who is the head of a representative office, a project of an international organization, or a foreign non-governmental organization in Vietnam;
  • NN2 – Visa issued to heads of representative offices, branches of foreign traders, and representative offices of foreign economic, cultural, and other professional organizations in Vietnam;
  • DH – Visa issued to foreigners coming to Viet Nam for internship and study;
  • PV1 – Visa issued to reporters, and journalists permanently residing in Vietnam.
  • LĐ1 – Visa issued to foreigners working in Vietnam with confirmation that they are not eligible for work permits unless otherwise provided for in treaties to which Vietnam is a contracting party;
  • LĐ2 – Visa issued to foreigners working in Vietnam who are required to have a work permit.

According to the provisions of the law on entry, exit, and residence of foreigners in Vietnam, the Vietnam Visiting-relatives visa is valid for a maximum period of 12 months. However, the duration of a Vietnamese visitor visa will be shorter than the validity of a passport or document valid for international travel. Depending on the relationship between the customer and the guarantor, as well as whether the customer is in Vietnam or abroad, the document requirements, as well as the process of applying for the visa are also different!
